Draymond Green will be away from the Golden State Warriors indefinitely after a video surfaced where he was seen sucker punching his teammate Jordan Poole. Coach Steve Kerr called it a “Mutual decision,” according to CBS news.
Green did not get into the reason why he punched his teammate, but he did apologize to his team, and Poole.
Maybe the Jordan documentary Charles Oakley scene, where he slapped Scottie Pippen as a rookie in the locker room, activated in his mind.
Green said he will “right the ship, which won’t be an easy process.”
Green said that he is “a very flawed human being. But I also look forward to continuing to better myself and my emotional state and how I deal with my emotions. I think that one thing that I lack is how to let emotions out.”
“No. 1, I was wrong for my actions that took place on Wednesday. For that I have apologized to my team. I have apologized to Jordan. I wanted to take that a step further. With the event yesterday with the video leaking, there is a huge embarrassment that comes with that, not only for myself … but the embarrassment that Jordan has to deal with and that this team has to deal with and this organization has to deal with, but also Jordan’s family.
“His family saw that video, his mother, his father saw that video.
Quite frankly, if my mother saw that video, I know how my mother would feel.”
