In a touching display of generosity, Drake has extended a helping hand to a cancer survivor, showcasing his admiration for her resilience in the face of adversity.
During the It’s All a Blur — Big as the What? Tour in Nashville, TN, Drake, accompanied by J. Cole, took the stage to deliver an unforgettable performance.
Amidst the excitement, Drake spotted a fan holding a sign that read: “Just Finished Chemo.” Without hesitation, he requested the cameras to focus on her, displaying her courageous message on the jumbotron for all to see.
Setting aside his own fame, Drake addressed the crowd, acknowledging the fan’s strength with profound respect. “Listen, forget Drake, forget anybody else in this building right now. That’s a true soldier right there,” he proclaimed, drawing thunderous cheers from the audience.
But his act of kindness didn’t end there. With sincerity in his voice, Drake pledged to gift the fan $100,000, a gesture that left many touched by his compassion.
Admitting that such generosity was unprecedented for him, Drake handed her a receipt, urging her to redeem it at the end of the night.
“I hope my manager doesn’t kill me ’cause I’ve never really done this much, but, listen, I want you to cash this in at the end of the night,” he expressed, emphasizing his genuine desire to make a difference.
The recipient, identified as Lauren Schwallier, a 33-year-old battling breast cancer since March 2022, received the overwhelming support from Drake and the entire audience.
