Drake and the Weeknd refuse to acknowledge the 2023 Grammy Awards by Boycotting them. Both superstars decided not to submit their albums for consideration this year.
According to Pitchfork, Drake’s Honestly, Nevermind, and The Weeknd’s Dawn FM will not be on the ballot. Drake has been at it with the Grammys Awards going back to 2017 when he said that “Hotline Bling” should have been in the pop category instead of the rap category.
According to Complex, last year, Drake pulled the songs he had already submitted and was nominated for “Certified Lover Boy” and “Way 2 sexy,” which left an opening in both fields.
I guess it’s safe to say Drake isn’t playing any games with the Grammys until they fix whatever it is that he disagrees with.
