Legendary duo Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine, founders of the Lovine and Young Education Group, are delighted to announce their collaboration with Atlanta Public Schools in the establishment of a groundbreaking learning facility.
Scheduled to open its doors in August 2024 at Frederick Douglass High School in Atlanta, the Lovine and Young Center will initially cater to students enrolled in the 9th Grade STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) Academy.
The program is designed to offer enrolled students an unparalleled opportunity to delve into a wide array of disciplines, businesses, and industries, with the overarching goal of addressing pertinent challenges within these sectors.
Upon completion, participating students will have the chance to engage in collaborative endeavors and craft presentations showcasing their innovative solutions to real-world predicaments.
Jimmy Iovine expressed his vision for the initiative: “We want to give the next generation of students access to a proven, revolutionary learning experience where technology meets design and entrepreneurship,” Iovine said in a statement. “This will not only prepare them for the jobs of today but equip them to reimagine and shape the jobs, technologies, and creative enterprises of the future.”
Iovine further elaborated, “We are thrilled with our results in higher ed and the Los Angeles high school, and hope for similar success with Atlanta Public Schools.” As part of the program’s expansion strategy, the incoming freshman cohort will have the chance to participate and flourish. The comprehensive implementation of the curriculum across all four grade levels is projected to be finalized by the academic year 2027-2028.
