A dog named Lucy escaped from her owner and ran out onto the ice in Detroit. Police and firefighters in Michigan from the Wyandotte Fire and Police department responded to the call. When they got there, there was Lucy sitting on a floating block of ice about 20 feet offshore.

A video captured at the scene shows a rescuer in specialist gear climbing partially into the water on a ladder to reach Lucy with a catch pole. Lucy luckily was not injured and was reunited with her owner.
