Diddy’s mother, Janice Combs, has finally spoken out about her son’s legal battles, addressing the public scrutiny he’s facing following allegations made by his ex-girlfriend, Cassie.
While she acknowledges that her son may not have been entirely transparent about his past with Cassie, she emphasizes that this does not automatically make him guilty of the serious charges he now faces.
In a statement released through her attorney, Natlie G. Figgers, to Local 10 News on Sunday, Janice expressed her heartbreak over the accusations against her son, stating that he is being judged based on a “narrative created out of lies” rather than the truth. “Witnessing what feels like a public lynching of my son before he has the chance to prove his innocence is an unbearable pain,” she said.
Janice also addressed the infamous hotel video footage that allegedly shows Diddy assaulting Cassie, explaining that the line between truth and lies can sometimes blur.
“Sometimes, the truth and a lie become so closely intertwined that admitting one part of the story becomes terrifying, especially when that truth is outside the norm or too complicated to be believed,” she remarked.
According to Janice, Diddy’s settlement with Cassie may have triggered a chain reaction that led to his current legal troubles, but she firmly believes that he deserves his day in court.
Facing charges including sex trafficking and racketeering, Diddy is due in court on October 9, and his mother made it clear that she stands by his side, insisting, “He is not the monster they’ve made him out to be.”
As Diddy prepares for his next legal battle, the support from his mother stands as a reminder that there are always two sides to every story, and Janice Combs is determined to see the truth come to light.
