A tragic scene unfolded late Friday at the Las Vegas Athletic Club on the city’s west side, where gunfire erupted, leaving two people dead and multiple others injured, according to local authorities.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police confirmed that one victim died at the scene. The suspected gunman was later shot by law enforcement and transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
“There is no longer a threat to the public,” said Undersheriff Andrew Walsh, assuring the community that the situation was swiftly contained.
Police updated the public via social media, stating the suspect’s death was confirmed at a nearby hospital following the incident.
