In what’s being hailed as the largest fentanyl bust in U.S. history, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has dismantled a major drug operation linked to Mexico’s notorious Sinaloa Cartel. Federal agents seized over 400 kilograms of fentanyl… a lethal synthetic opioid… along with millions in cash, weapons, and methamphetamine across a multi-state sting operation.
U.S. Attorney General Pamela Bondi announced the massive bust on Tuesday, revealing that the sweeping law enforcement action extended across New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Arizona, and Las Vegas, Nevada. The takedown resulted in the arrest of 16 individuals believed to be part of the cartel’s U.S.-based distribution network.
Authorities also confiscated over $4 million in cash, hundreds of thousands in assets, large quantities of methamphetamine, and an arsenal of firearms. The sting is being described as one of the most significant disruptions to the Sinaloa Cartel’s operations in recent memory.
