Dame Dash is making waves by offering a one-of-a-kind incentive to those interested in purchasing his shares in Roc-A-Fella Records, but there’s a catch—the buyer must meet a specific price point.
On Monday, August 19, Dash took to Instagram to announce that if the auction for his one-third stake in the iconic label surpasses the $10 million mark, he will throw in a legendary piece of hip-hop history: an original Roc-A-Fella chain.
“Roc-A-Fella Inc., whose only asset is Reasonable Doubt, is up for sale. Many have made intriguing offers, but please only reach out if you’re serious. If the sale exceeds $10 million, the buyer will receive an authentic Roc-A-Fella chain,” Dash wrote in his Instagram post.
In an accompanying video, Dash elaborated on the sale, revealing the significant interest he’s already received. “As we all know, one-third of Roc-A-Fella Inc., which owns Reasonable Doubt, is for sale. I’ve received a lot of calls and very healthy offers, which I appreciate,” he said.
Dash also addressed the possibility of others trying to undermine the value of the shares, hinting at potential tensions with his former business partner, JAY-Z. “Obviously, if someone’s trying to downplay the price, it’s because they want to buy it—like a first right of refusal,” he added.
Dame Dash made it clear that the stakes are high for anyone looking to own a piece of Roc-A-Fella history. “If you want to buy one-third of Roc-A-Fella Inc., you’ll need to bring substantial funds. And for anything over $10 million, I’ll sweeten the deal with an original Roc-A-Fella chain from my personal collection.”
The auction for Dash’s shares in Roc-A-Fella Records is set to take place on August 29. Proceeds from the sale will go toward satisfying nearly $1 million in debt owed by Dash to film producer Josh Weber, following a lawsuit over copyright infringement and defamation.
This bold move by Dame Dash not only opens the door for investors to own a piece of music history but also adds an exclusive incentive that could make the deal irresistible. Will anyone step up with the $10 million to secure both the shares and the coveted Roc-A-Fella chain? The answer will be revealed soon.
