Colombian authorities uncovered a bizarre smuggling attempt when they apprehended a man hiding cocaine capsules beneath a fake wig… an audacious plan that unraveled just before he could board a flight.
The 40-year-old suspect, from Colombia’s Coffee Region, was set to travel from Cartagena’s Rafael Núñez International Airport to Amsterdam when security scanners detected something unusual under his thick, synthetic black hairpiece.
Upon further inspection, police discovered nine capsules packed with cocaine, estimated to be worth $10,000 USD (42 million Colombian Pesos).
Authorities released shocking footage of the moment they cut into the wig, revealing the hidden drugs. According to Colombia’s National Police, the seizure prevented the sale of over 400 doses of cocaine, valued at more than 10,000 euros in European markets.
