Chicago authorities are searching for a group of teens believed to be responsible for a wave of smash-and-grab burglaries targeting businesses across the city.
Investigators say the crimes occurred between January 12 and January 24, hitting neighborhoods including Lake View East, Lincoln Park, Brighton Park, Armour Square, Rogers Park, West Town, Logan Square, and Uptown.
According to police, groups of four to seven suspects shattered storefront doors and windows using tools like sledgehammers and pry bars.
The suspects then rushed inside, stealing cash, cash registers, ATMs, and merchandise before escaping in a vehicle.
Detectives are urging anyone with surveillance footage or information to come forward as the search continues.
