Conservative activist Charlie Kirk, 31, was flown home to Arizona on Air Force Two Thursday, a day after he was fatally shot during a campus event at Utah Valley University.
Vice President JD Vance helped carry Kirk’s casket in Salt Lake City before the plane departed for Phoenix, where his wife Erika and their two children awaited. The flight landed just before 5 p.m. local time.
Authorities say the shooter has not yet been identified. Vance remembered Kirk as a close friend and a driving force in shaping the Trump movement, calling his death a devastating loss for conservatives nationwide.
