The incident occurred just as Barcelona fans were celebrating their team clinching the league title. Meanwhile, Espanyol supporters had gathered en masse near the stadium entrance to greet their team’s coach. Tensions flared… and in the midst of the chaos, tragedy struck.
Eyewitness footage shows the car surrounded by hundreds of Espanyol fans before surging forward and crashing into the crowd. Authorities have confirmed that more than a dozen people were hurt, though no fatalities have been reported.
According to police, the disturbing chain of events may have started when the vehicle struck a young girl. Enraged fans allegedly retaliated by throwing objects at the car, shattering its rear window.
