During a candid conversation on X Spaces on Wednesday (November 27), the Bronx-born rap sensation delved into how her upbringing influenced her relationship with money.
Growing up around drug dealers who squandered their cash instead of investing wisely taught Cardi the importance of a “hustler mentality,” a mindset that has propelled her to superstardom.
“Every four months, I get a fat check from all the songs I’ve released,” Cardi shared. “Music is my main revenue stream. I get $1.5 million for shows in the U.S., and if it’s a bigger venue, I demand $2 million. For international gigs, it’s $2.5 million. And if someone pays me to promote something, I’m taking that bag too.”
While her income is extraordinary, Cardi didn’t shy away from discussing her colossal monthly expenses. “There are bills every single day, even if I don’t leave the house,” she admitted, before listing some of her major costs. Her spending includes:
