In a fiery response to Elon Musk’s recent jab, where he referred to her as a “puppet who can’t even talk without being fed words,” Cardi B took to social media to set the record straight.
The Bronx-born rapper and outspoken celebrity didn’t hold back, passionately defending her background and speaking out against Musk’s comments.
“I’m not a puppet, Elon,” she wrote, underscoring her identity as the daughter of immigrant parents who worked tirelessly to support their family. Cardi B laid out her roots, explaining she’s a product of welfare, Section 8 housing, and the systemic struggles that impact many Americans.
“I’m a product of poverty and of what happens when the system is set up against you,” she said, challenging Musk’s understanding of the hardships millions face.
In her post, Cardi highlighted the disconnect between billionaires like Musk and those who navigate everyday American struggles. “You don’t know not one thing about the American struggle,” she asserted. Her message struck a chord with her fans, who praised her for standing up against the tech mogul’s remarks.
Ending with a pointed comment, she added, “PS – fix my algorithm.” The cheeky side note likely referenced ongoing frustrations many influencers and public figures have about social media reach and visibility.

She does not speak for me and should consider going back to school to learn how to address the American public. Shame on Kamala for using this young woman; sadly and most assuredly she will not be offering her a position within her cabinet.
