Cam’ron recently shared some unfiltered thoughts on Denzel Washington’s recent film roles, expressing his fatigue with seeing the legendary actor star in action-packed movies at his age.
During an episode of It Is What It Is, the sports talk show he co-hosts with Ma$e, Cam’ron voiced his frustrations about the lack of originality in today’s entertainment.
The rapper took aim at Hollywood’s habit of recycling old ideas, using the announcement of Rambo 6: New Blood as an example of the industry’s creative stagnation. “I’m not watching Rocky beat Rambo at 78 years old, man. I’m not watching that, bro. I refuse,” he said.
He then shifted focus to Washington’s Equalizer franchise, where the 71-year-old actor reprises his role as a vigilante action hero. Despite his respect for Washington’s acting skills, Cam’ron admitted he’s no longer able to enjoy watching him in such physically demanding roles.
“I love Denzel Washington as an actor; I’m not watching him do karate at 71 years old and all that. I love him, he’s a great actor, but when n***as start doing karate in they 70s, I can’t believe the movie. I can’t f**k with Denzel being the Equalizer at 70.”
Cam’ron’s critique touches on a broader conversation about the roles aging actors take on in Hollywood and whether audiences can still connect with them in action-packed settings. What do you think? Should Denzel step away from action movies, or does his legacy make him untouchable?
