During his dynamic performance at this weekend’s Essence Festival, Busta Rhymes paused to address the audience, urging them to stay present and engaged.
The legendary rapper, known for his energetic stage presence, wasn’t thrilled with the number of people glued to their phones during his set.
“Put those devices down,” Busta Rhymes emphatically told the crowd on Friday (July 5). “Forget about those cameras. Let’s get back to interacting like real humans. I’m not from this era of screens controlling our souls. Forget your phone.”
Busta Rhymes also noticed many attendees seated during his performance at the Caesar Superdome, which didn’t sit well with the veteran performer.
“I’ll call out each and every one of you until you’re on your feet,” he declared. “I’ve been doing this for 33 years, and I’m not used to seeing people sit down at my shows. I don’t care about your age – get up now!”
