In a moment that has moved the hip-hop community, Busta Rhymes will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2025. The announcement brought forth a heartfelt response from the iconic rapper, who expressed his overwhelming joy and gratitude.
Reflecting on the honor, Busta Rhymes shared with Variety, “I’m not gonna lie, it was probably one of the most prestigious moments, one of the most emotional moments, one of the most dream come true moments. It’s really one of the things you never think you’ll ever get.”
In an industry where many legends have yet to receive such recognition, Busta’s accolade is particularly significant. The “Touch It” artist highlighted that numerous influential figures have never been awarded a Grammy, MTV Award, or a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, nor inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
“There are incredible icons in this world that have never gotten a Grammy, they’ve never gotten an MTV Award,” he added. “They’ve never gotten a Hollywood star. They’ve never been inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. And they could’ve lived to be 90 years old and still never got it. They could have been professionally recording for 70 years and still never got it,” he noted.
Busta Rhymes’ upcoming star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is not just a personal triumph but a milestone for hip-hop culture, celebrating the enduring impact of his career.
