In a noteworthy musical twist, Busta Rhymes has received accolades from Bun B for reimagining one of the latter’s classic tracks, breathing new life into it several years after its original release.
On November 24, the frontman of Flipmode Squad unveiled his 11th studio album, titled “Blockbusta.” Among the album’s highlights is the track “BIG EVERYTHING,” featuring DaBaby and T-Pain, which cleverly incorporates a sample from Bun B’s 2005 hit, “Get Throwed.”
Expressing his admiration for the reinterpretation of his timeless song, the legendary UGK artist took to Instagram to share his thoughts: “Salute to the general @bustarhymes for bringing back that Trill Nostalgia and doing this record! He’s been talking about it for a minute but the timing couldn’t be better! And he brought in @tpain and @dababy for a trill ass trifecta??!!! What a banger!”
T-Pain, one of the featured artists, joined the conversation in the comments section, adding, “legend!!”
This musical collaboration not only pays homage to the roots of hip-hop but also showcases the seamless integration of classic beats into contemporary sounds. Busta Rhymes’ Blockbusta album, with its skillful use of samples and the inclusion of artists like DaBaby and T-Pain, stands as a testament to the enduring impact of iconic tracks like Bun B’s “Get Throwed.”
