A fast-rising voice in Latin music, 22-year-old Maria De La Rosa… known to fans as DELAROSA… was fatally shot in a targeted attack while sitting inside a parked car in Los Angeles, shaking the music community and sparking a major investigation.
The deadly incident unfolded early Saturday in the Northridge area, where police say two armed suspects ran up to the vehicle and unleashed multiple rounds around 1:25 a.m. on November 22. Authorities believe the gunmen intentionally ambushed the group.
Two men who were inside the car with the singer were also struck and are currently in critical condition, fighting for their lives. DELAROSA was rushed to Northridge Hospital Medical Center, but doctors were unable to save her.
Detectives are now exploring whether the murder may be tied to gang-related violence, though no arrests have been announced.
