Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Messenger, and Instagram, is currently facing a worldwide outage, rendering these popular social media platforms inaccessible to a vast number of users.
The outage commenced at approximately 10:20am ET and is affecting both the mobile applications and desktop versions of the platforms.
According to DownDetector, a service that tracks online disruptions, there are over 200,000 reports of Facebook being inaccessible in the Americas alone.
Similarly, more than 30,000 users have reported issues with accessing Instagram, while Messenger has seen over 8,000 reports of outages.
