Boosie Badazz is facing legal trouble in Austin, Texas, after allegedly dodging a payment for three days of services during a visit earlier this summer.
An arrest warrant was issued for the Louisiana rapper on Friday (September 20), according to NBC affiliate KXAN, after he reportedly skipped out on paying a bill for a chauffeur service. The charges — theft of service between $2,500 and $30,000 — stem from a trip Boosie took to Austin from June 5 to June 7.
During the visit, Boosie’s manager arranged for a sprinter van to pick up the rapper and his crew from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. Over the next three days, the chauffeur service drove Boosie to various locations, including Walmart, a trampoline park, urgent care (where one of his children was treated), Round Rock Outlet Mall, and even the federal courthouse for a parole officer check-in.
Boosie appeared satisfied with the service and posted a video on social media promoting the chauffeur company. He allegedly suggested that the video could serve as compensation, but the driver stated to police that there was never an agreement for the video to cover the entire cost of services.
Despite repeated efforts to collect payment, the company says they never received compensation and eventually sent an $8,800 invoice. After no payment was made, legal action was taken. A court hearing is set for October 25.
