Baton Rouge rapper Boosie Badazz has reached out to Donald Trump for help as the former president prepares to step back into the White House. Facing a renewed federal gun charge, Boosie took to social media, expressing his hope for a presidential pardon that could bring his legal troubles to an end.
Earlier this year, Boosie’s federal gun case in San Diego seemed to be resolved when the judge dismissed the charges. But within weeks, he found himself re-indicted, reigniting his battle with the justice system. Now, with Trump set to resume the presidency, Boosie is asking for assistance.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Boosie appealed directly to Trump, writing: “@realDonaldTrump CAN U PARDON ME ON MY FED CASE? I’m a NON-VIOLENT FELON.” He went on to explain that the court had previously ruled that non-violent offenders should not be prosecuted under federal gun law 922(g), pointing to the dismissed case of US vs Duarte, which was deemed unconstitutional. However, Boosie’s case was appealed, leading to his re-indictment.
The rapper also urged Trump to reconsider providing police immunity, saying, “I THINK THIS WILL MOTIVATE OFFICERS TO COMMIT DEADLY CRIMES. PLEASE DON’T DO THIS.”
Despite his plea, Boosie closed on a positive note, congratulating Trump on his victory and expressing hope for lower taxes, which he said would benefit everyone.
As Boosie continues his fight, his public appeal to Trump has sparked widespread interest and highlighted ongoing debates about justice, non-violent offenders, and police immunity.
