Boosie Badazz recently addressed Sexyy Red’s bold claim of being the “modern-day” version of him during an engaging interview on The Breakfast Club. The Baton Rouge rapper, known for his unapologetic ratchetness, welcomed the comparison with enthusiasm.
In response to the hosts’ inquiry about Sexyy Red’s statement, Boosie expressed gratitude, interpreting it as her way of giving him the recognition he deserves. “I feel like she gave me my flowers. I feel like she really gave me my flowers because Sexyy Red from the Lou. I’ve been there in the Lou since… I’m talking about 20 years. The one people love, and they respect his ratchetness.” he shared, acknowledging her St. Louis, Missouri roots.
Boosie then reminisced about his long-standing connection with St. Louis, spanning two decades, where he has been both loved and respected for his unique brand of ratchetness.
“They respect her ratchetness. I thought about it and I was like, ‘She kinda right!’ Because people respect my ratchetness. You might not like it, you might not like it, but you respect it. he explained, addressing hosts Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy directly.
Boosie emphasized the authenticity in both his and Sexyy Red’s personas, highlighting that he is not trying to be someone he’s not. He affirmed, “I’m not hiding something. I’m not trying to be somebody I’m not. I’m who I am, and that’s what Sexyy Red is.”
