A heartbreaking development has emerged in the month-long search for 19-year-old Cole Cooper, as police confirm a body has been discovered in a wooded area near Kilsyth Road in Banknock, close to Falkirk.
Authorities located the body around 4:15 PM, though formal identification is still pending. Despite that, Cole’s family… who are from the local area… have been notified of the discovery.
Police Scotland have confirmed that investigations remain ongoing to determine the full details surrounding the tragic find.
Cole was officially reported missing on Friday, May 9. His last confirmed sighting came two days earlier, on Wednesday, May 7, around 8:45 PM in the nearby village of Longcroft.
Prior to that, he was caught on CCTV in the early morning hours of Sunday, May 4, after reportedly leaving a party in Denny.
Since his disappearance, a major effort has been underway involving:
- Door-to-door inquiries with nearly 400 residents
- Review of over 2,000 hours of CCTV footage
- Dozens of tip-offs and potential sightings submitted via a public information portal set up by police
Authorities continue to appeal for any information that might help piece together what happened to Cole.
