Billie Eilish revealed her latest chest tattoo in a captivating bikini snapshot shared on Instagram by her close friend, Annabel Zimmer. Zimmer happens to be the daughter of the renowned composer Hans Zimmer. In the picture, Eilish confidently dons a stylish Miaou bikini top and trendy Versace shades while basking in the sun. Notably, this is the first time she has publicly displayed her tattoo, as she had previously made a commitment to keep it concealed from her fans.
In an interview with Vanity Fair at the age of 18, Eilish casually mentioned, “I did get a tattoo. However, you won’t ever catch a glimpse of it.” Rolling Stone later revealed that the tattoo showcases her surname in an exquisite, gothic font. She had it inked after her victorious night at the 2020 Grammys, where she triumphed in categories such as Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best New Artist.
Eilish’s unique fashion sense has always sparked conversations ever since she entered the music industry as a teenager. Initially known for her preference for baggy and more masculine attire, she has gradually diversified her style in recent years.
Earlier this year, Eilish addressed the criticism she received for her evolving fashion choices through an Instagram Story post. She reflected on the initial five years of her career when she faced intense scrutiny and comments for her boyish appearance and clothing choices.
In her post, she wrote, “I endured relentless criticism for my androgynous style and the way I dressed. I was constantly bombarded with suggestions that I would be more appealing if I conformed to conventional femininity.” Eilish boldly expressed her frustration, stating, “Now, when I embrace my femininity and wear clothes that complement my figure, I am accused of selling out. Women deserve the freedom to be multidimensional and pursue multiple interests.”
