NFL icon Bill Belichick is pushing back after his private relationship with 24-year-old model Jordon Hudson became national headline material. Newly surfaced emails obtained by WRAL reveal the legendary coach’s side of the story… and it’s far from what aired during his recent “CBS Sunday Morning” appearance.
Belichick, 72, took issue with how CBS allegedly handled the segment, claiming that producers “secretly” recorded Hudson during the interview, despite her request to remain off-camera. In one email, Belichick wrote, “Secretly, CBS had a camera focused on Jordon where Lead Producer Gabe instructed her to sit.”
The tension flared when Hudson herself interjected during the taping, shutting down a question about how the couple met with, “We’re not talking about that.” Belichick later clarified the reason: “We met randomly on a flight to Palm Beach in 2021. That’s no secret. But she wanted to avoid the interview spiraling into personal territory,” he explained in an email.
The legendary coach also addressed Hudson’s presence at the interview, stating she filled in for his publisher’s publicist, who couldn’t attend. According to Belichick, Hudson played a key role in helping him shape the format and vision of his upcoming book, The Art of Winning: Lessons from a Life in Football.
“I acknowledged her in the book because she was a creative contributor,” Belichick said. “She even came up with the concept for the four special pages in the book.”
Criticism intensified after reports claimed Belichick asked for Hudson to be copied on all his email communications. He responded, saying their bond is both personal and professional: “Jordon assists with my personal media… she’s not involved in the UNC football program aside from when media intersects with it.”
Belichick said he was “caught off guard” when the CBS interview shifted focus to his personal life. He defended Hudson’s actions, stating she was simply doing her job. He went on to accuse CBS of crafting a “false narrative” through “selectively edited clips.”
