Rising rap star BigXthaPlug has found himself in legal trouble after being arrested on a marijuana charge in Texas.
The “Texas rap heavyweight” was taken into custody early Wednesday morning and booked at the Arlington City Jail after officers pulled him over for expired tags. According to authorities, the arrest stemmed from a routine traffic stop that quickly escalated.
Arlington PD reports that around 12:05 AM, officers pulled over BigX’s vehicle and immediately detected the scent of marijuana. As a result, both BigX and his passenger, Cleodist Landum, were ordered to exit the car.
Police claim they spotted cigarettes and a green leafy substance in the vehicle’s console. A further search uncovered a handgun in the passenger door pocket.
Adding to the situation, authorities discovered that 22-year-old Cleodist Landum—believed to be related to BigX… had an active felony warrant out of Bexar County, Texas. Upon searching him, officers allegedly found marijuana on his person.
Landum was arrested and booked on multiple charges, including possession of marijuana and unlawful carrying of a weapon, alongside his outstanding warrant.
As for BigXthaPlug, he was charged with possession of less than 2 ounces of marijuana and remains in police custody.
At this time, BigX’s team has not issued a statement regarding his arrest. Fans are now waiting to see how the rapper will respond to this legal setback.
