Tragedy has struck the OutKast family. Hip-hop legend Antwan “Big Boi” Patton is mourning the devastating loss of his beloved uncle, Remoin “Uncle Moonie” Patton, following a deadly road rage incident on June 16 that shocked the Atlanta community.
Police have confirmed two arrests in connection to the shooting, which claimed the 62-year-old’s life in broad daylight.
According to investigators, Jabyrion Crumbley turned himself in Wednesday, accused of fatally shooting Uncle Moonie after a verbal altercation escalated at a local intersection. Patton was reportedly attempting to make a turn when tensions flared — ending with a single gunshot to his back. Crumbley has been charged with murder, aggravated assault, and illegal firearm possession during a felony. He remains in custody at Fulton County Jail without bond.
Authorities also arrested Janisha Crumbley four days later for allegedly helping to conceal the suspect’s whereabouts. She has since been released. The exact relationship between the two suspects has not been made public.
Surveillance and police reports reveal that after being shot, Uncle Moonie lost control of his vehicle, crashing into an abandoned home nearby. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
