Beyoncé has officially added another jewel to her crown… her first Emmy Award. The global superstar, credited under her legal name Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, earned the honor for Outstanding Costumes for a Variety, Nonfiction, or Reality Program thanks to the “Beyoncé Bowl,” her electrifying, Western-themed halftime spectacle featured during Netflix’s special Christmas Day NFL broadcast between the Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans.
The performance, staged in her hometown of Houston, marked the live debut of tracks from her chart-topping Cowboy Carter album, blending high-energy choreography with striking cowboy-inspired visuals.
This win is more than just another trophy… it’s history in the making. After 10 previous Emmy nominations without a win, Beyoncé now sits halfway to the coveted EGOT status, adding the Emmy to her staggering 35 Grammy Awards. To complete the prestigious quartet, she still needs a Tony and an Oscar.
The honor was one of several juried Emmys announced Tuesday… awards decided by expert panels outside the standard voting process, typically reserved for technical achievements and rarely bestowed upon A-list stars. Official presentations will take place at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards next month.
Beyoncé isn’t done yet… she’s also up for Best Variety Special and Best Direction for a Variety Special for “Beyoncé Bowl.” Adding extra intrigue, her husband Jay-Z is nominated in the same category as an executive producer of Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime show, setting the stage for a potential husband-versus-wife Emmy showdown.
