Heartbreak in Hollywood and New York City as actress Wenne Alton Davis, known for her appearance on the hit series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, has died after being struck by a vehicle in Manhattan.
Authorities say the 60-year-old performer… born Wendy Davis… was crossing near Broadway on Monday when a Cadillac SUV turning onto West 53rd Street hit her, despite her reportedly having the right of way. Davis sustained a severe head injury and was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she passed away later that evening.
Police confirm the 61-year-old driver remained at the scene and is not currently facing charges as the investigation continues.
Friends are devastated, including close companion Edward Reynoso, who shared that just hours before the tragedy, Davis told him, “I love you, I appreciate you,” a moment he now describes as haunting almost like a… final farewell.
