Rapper Kodak Black, known as Bill Kapri, finds himself in the media spotlight once again as a new arrest warrant has been issued against him in Broward County. The warrant states that Black failed to fulfill the required drug and alcohol testing on June 9th, a crucial condition of his pre-trial release program.
It is worth noting that Kodak Black was previously arrested on July 16, 2022, on charges related to oxycodone trafficking and possessing a controlled substance without a prescription. However, he was promptly released the following day after posting a $75,000 bond.
Earlier this year, the rapper was ordered to participate in a 90-day treatment program for violating the terms of his supervised release in a federal gun case. This decision came after he reportedly failed a drug test, leading to a court hearing.
The recent arrest warrant against Black has drawn attention due to the perceived disparity between his sentencing and that of Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, who was involved in a federal gun application case. Both Black and Biden pleaded guilty to unlawfully owning a firearm while using drugs, despite initially denying their drug use during the application process. However, while Black received a sentence of over three years in prison, Biden negotiated a plea deal to avoid incarceration.
This discrepancy in sentencing has sparked criticism from Black’s attorney, Bradford Cohen, as well as several prominent conservatives who argue that individuals like Black have been sentenced to prison for similar offenses while Biden has seemingly evaded such consequences.
In a recent interview with Sean Hannity, Kodak’s attorney, Bradford Cohen, expressed his concerns, stating, “Not only did Kodak receive a 46-month sentence after having his original sentence commuted, but the FBI agent who investigated and arrested him continues to target and harass him. The agent even reported him to Homeland Security for carrying more than $10,000 in cash. It appears to be a multi-tiered justice system, not just a two-tiered one.”
