Ariana Grande has finally addressed the serious allegations against her former employers at Nickelodeon, expressing her support for the victims who have come forward.
Appearing on Penn Badgley’s “Podcrushed” podcast on Wednesday, the pop sensation reflected on her time as a child star with the network. She expressed deep concern for her peers who have shared their troubling experiences.
Ariana Grande, who gained fame through her roles on “Victorious” and “Sam & Cat,” discussed how she used to find the humor on her shows edgy and cool, but now feels differently about it.
She shared, “And, the innuendos … we were told, and convinced as well, that it was the cool differentiation. And, I don’t know, I think it all just happened so quickly and now looking back on some of the clips I’m like, that’s … damn, really?”
Although Ariana Grande’s personal experiences may have differed from other Nickelodeon stars, she emphasized the need for safer on-set environments for young actors.
She advocated for mandatory therapy sessions for child actors and other protective measures.
