Captain Keith “Kiwi” Soffes, a shrimp boat captain from Texas, told FOX 26 Houston that while he and his dog Monster were fishing on his boat. He looked back to see why Monster didn’t come to help drag the nets and noticed she was nowhere to be found.
Captain Soffes said that once he realized his best friend was missing, he turned the boat around to find her but couldn’t. Captain Soffes thought he was never going to see Monster again.
With the boat being 5 miles from shore, Captain Soffes couldn’t see Monster, who was wearing a life vest. Captain Soffes shared what happened on Meta/Facebook to see if Monster made it to shore.
Someone on social media recognized Monster and said she was at a local park. Someone also said that they saw her swimming across the bay. Desperate to find Monster, Soffes offered an award.
Captain Soffes eventually found Monster, who was tied to a trailer. When Monster noticed her dad, she was all doggy kisses.
Happy to hear that Monster was okay and was able to find her dad.
