Alaska Airlines was forced to ground all of its flights on Thursday following a sudden information technology outage that disrupted operations across the airline.
The carrier confirmed the issue in a statement on X (formerly Twitter), announcing a “temporary ground stop” while crews worked to resolve the problem. The outage impacted both Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air flights, leaving passengers stranded at airports and prompting widespread delays.
“We apologize for the inconvenience and are working urgently to restore systems,” the airline wrote.
As of now, Alaska Airlines has not provided additional details on what caused the outage or when normal operations will resume.
Travelers are being advised to check their flight status online before heading to the airport to avoid unexpected wait times.
