Akon Redeems Himself After French Montana Fake Watch Gift Incident

In a gesture of goodwill, Akon has presented French Montana with a brand-new timepiece to rectify the previous blunder where they unknowingly acquired counterfeit Hublot watches in New York City.

During an upcoming interview on Drink Champs with N.O.R.E., Akon decided to address the watch controversy and put an end to the speculation by meeting up with French Montana on Tuesday night.

French Montana showcased the new wristwatch in an Instagram video, accompanied by the melodic beats of Akon’s hit song “Smack That.”

“Guess who I bumped into? Take a look, it’s iced out,” exclaimed French, referring to Akon, who was also sporting a stunning new watch. “This is the real deal.”

In the caption, French humorously added, “Stop asking Akon about the watch he just pulled up on me and gave me another watch lol let’s see if he did right this time @fakewatchbusta,” N.O.R.E. expressed his satisfaction that Akon took the initiative to rectify the situation when confronted about the watch mishap.

“I can’t stop laughing and smiling @akon did the right thing @frenchmontana love y’all both salute,” he commented beneath French’s post. N.O.R.E., in a teaser for their upcoming interview, playfully teased Akon about the incident, but Akon disclosed that he not only procured a replacement watch for French Montana but also obtained another watch for himself, which unfortunately turned out to be a counterfeit.

“Listen, me and French got that day,” Akon confessed. “I’m the one that lost money. I bought two new watches — one for me and one for French.

“Here’s the deal: I wasn’t familiar with Hublot; I just knew I liked the watch. It looked impressive. So, this guy was selling watches, and I asked him, ‘How much does that watch cost?’

“He replied, ‘Usually around $15,000 to $20,000, but I have a connection who can get it for us for $5,000,'” Akon explained before revealing that he made the purchase on Canal Street.
