A$AP Rocky recently unveiled a new track, “Taylor Swift,” from his highly anticipated album Don’t De Dumb at Rolling Loud Miami. The song’s lyrics have sparked discussions among fans, who believe he may be taking shots at an unnamed rival, with many speculating that Travis Scott could be the intended target.
During his captivating performance, A$AP Rocky stood above the crowd on a set of metal stairs, donning iced-out hair clips in his braids, and delivered a hard-hitting verse that seemed to address a rival who allegedly copied his style and flow.
In the song, A$AP Rocky boldly raps, “First you stole my flow, so I stole your bitch/ Then you stole my style, I need at least like 10 percent/ All due disrespect, I hope you take offense,” he raps on the hard-hitting track.
Though the diss was not directed explicitly at anyone, fans couldn’t help but speculate that Travis Scott might be the subject. Some Twitter users noted that Travis had previously adopted aspects of A$AP Rocky’s drugged-out sound and fashion-forward style in his earlier albums. Rumors of tension between the two artists have circulated for years, with claims that Travis Scott “borrowed” elements of the A$AP Mob’s swag, as stated by A$AP Nast in 2016.
Back then, A$AP Rocky himself addressed these claims during a Hot 97 interview, inviting the public to judge if Travis was genuinely authentic or merely a “biter.”
Intriguingly, there is a reference in A$AP Rocky’s lyrics that some interpret as an allusion to Travis Scott’s alleged 2015 fling with Rihanna, who is currently expecting her second child with A$AP Rocky.
