A$AP Rocky and Rihanna may have just made one of the most unexpected baby name promises in hip-hop history… vowing to name their next child after the rapper’s lawyer, Joe Tacopina.
Tacopina, who successfully defended Rocky in a high-profile shooting trial, opened up about the couple’s heartfelt gesture during an interview with Extra on Wednesday (February 19). The veteran attorney, known for representing big names like Donald Trump, revealed how the couple reacted after Rocky was found not guilty.
“They hugged me and said, ‘Listen, our next baby is A$AP Joe,’” Tacopina recalled. In response, he told the power couple, “I’m gonna hold you to that.”
The seasoned lawyer also shared a powerful moment from the courtroom, just before the verdict was announced. Rocky, facing the possibility of a decade behind bars, turned to Tacopina and expressed his gratitude.
“He grabbed me and said, ‘Joe, I just want you to know, I know how hard you fought here. I know everything you’ve done, and I just appreciate you so much. We’re in this together, no matter what, and I love you,’” Tacopina recounted.
The attorney praised Rocky’s humility, adding, “At such a serious moment in his life, he had the presence of mind to say thank you. That was really special.”
With Rocky and Rihanna already parenting two children, time will tell if baby “A$AP Joe” will make his way into the world… but this legal victory has certainly cemented an unbreakable bond between the superstar couple and their lawyer.
