A$AP Rocky has officially declared his not-guilty plea concerning two felony charges of assault with a semi-automatic firearm in connection to an alleged 2021 shootout involving fellow A$AP Mob member A$AP Relli.
This plea was submitted during Rocky’s arraignment in a Los Angeles, CA courtroom on January 8, following a judge’s decision that there was sufficient evidence to proceed to trial. The incident reportedly occurred after a heated argument between Rocky and A$AP Relli.
Rocky’s defense attorney, Joe Tacopina, who is concurrently representing Donald Trump in a New York case related to alleged falsification of business documents, expressed confidence in Rocky’s innocence.
Tacopina shared with Rolling Stone that the rapper, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, is eager to reunite with his family, including the two children he shares with Rihanna.
Describing Rocky as a resilient and robust individual, Tacopina conveyed the rapper’s anticipation of returning home. The charges stem from accusations that Rocky fired shots at A$AP Relli during their dispute in Hollywood.
A$AP Relli claims that tensions escalated after Rocky allegedly failed to fulfill a promise to assist the family of a deceased A$AP Mob member.
