A Parrot got a hold of one New Zealand family’s GoPro and decided to film its getaway. A New Zealand family got an unexpected bird’s eye view of a trail they had just hiked in Fiordland Park, South Island, thanks to this beautiful Parrot.
The Verheul family, from Dunedin in the southeast of the country, had just finished exploring part of the Kepler Track when a Kea, a native New Zealand species, grabbed their GoPro and took off to the sky.
In an interview with broadcaster Seven Sharp, Alex Verheul said his family turned on the device to film a group of curious birds, who had joined them outside of the hut they were staying at.
Shortly after they started to film the birds, one of them decided to take flight, capturing amazing aerial footage of its flight. However, the bird did end up placing the GoPro on the ground, and somehow the GoPro survived the bird’s flight.
