A New Moon Was Spotted Orbiting Jupiter By An Amateur Astronomer

Jupiter is the largest planet in the solar system, with 79 acknowledged moons. However, Jupiter is millions and millions of miles away, and one amateur astronomer spotted a new moon orbiting Jupiter.

Kai Ly was studying images of Jupiter taken by the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope when he spotted the new moon orbiting Jupiter.

Ly said the search for moons was simply a summer hobby before he had to return to school.
