A major law enforcement sweep has shut down multiple smoke shops accused of selling dangerous THC products to minors, officials announced Friday.
The Harnett County Sheriff’s Office, working with Angier, Dunn, and Lillington police, spent two weeks investigating reports that underage customers were overdosing on products purchased at local shops.
Authorities executed search warrants at nine stores across the county, uncovering a staggering 64 pounds of illegal THC, along with $49,033 in cash.
“These shops were pushing high-potency THC vapes, pre-rolled cigars, and flower buds disguised as being within legal limits. In reality, the levels far exceeded what North Carolina law allows,” deputies said.
