6 Habits Doctors Wish You’d Stop After 40
Okay, so you’ve reach the great old young age of 40 and you’re still running that same old play. You’re still doing the same things that you were doing when you were in your 20’s. From partying all night to eating unhealthy, you just haven’t slowed down at all. Here is a list of unhealthy things that your doctor would love for you to stop doing.
1. Using Bar Soap
It is definitely time to upgrade that bar soap to a fresh smelling body wash. Bar soap houses bacteria by just sitting in the shower for months. Bar soap dehydrates your skin and offers little to no exfoliation, causing dry skin to build up. With the way the world is today, leave the bar soap behind so you can have better skin and better health.
⠀
2. Sitting Too Much
People are starting to say that sitting is the new form of smoking for most people in the world today. Sitting can increase your risk of obesity and can make you feel unhealthy. You should try to breakup your sitting time throughout the day, especially if you have a job that requires you to sit for more than 4 hours. Try going for a walk and stretching when you feel like you have been sitting for to long.
⠀
3. Staying At A Job That’s Not Right For You
Yes we all need a job, but is a job worth you having a heart attack, being stressed, hating every minute of your day, no. Having a job should be fun and exciting, not stressful to the point where you hate getting up in the morning. Leaving a job that makes you unhappy not only boosts your mental health, but it also boost your physical well-being, too. According to a study published in the journal Psychosomatic Medicine, people who have a high stressed job have a higher risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
⠀
4. Going To Sleep At Different Times Every Night
Staying on a consistent sleep schedule is something that we should do as adults too, not only for young children. People with irregular sleep patterns who went to bed at different times every day weighed more and had higher blood sugar, higher blood pressure, and greater heart attack and stroke risk than those who had a consistent sleeping schedule.
⠀
5. Drinking Too Much
Avoid heavy alcohol consumption. Drinking a lot of alcohol causes the pores to dilate, contributing to breakouts and excess oil. Drinking several glasses of alcohol every day can cause long-term problems for your body.
⠀
6. Skipping Breakfast
Skipping breakfast is one of the main reasons people don’t have the energy that they need to get through the day. You should really take the time to eat a balanced breakfast even if you don’t feel hungry. By avoiding breakfast, you cause blood sugar fluctuation that can negatively affect your energy. So, please make sure that you eat your breakfast every morning with a smile.
Well, we hope that these few tips help you love your 40’s! Stay safe and God bless.
