In a legal battle that has captured headlines, entertainment mogul 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, recently initiated legal proceedings against vehicle manufacturer Parker Brothers Concepts.
This legal dispute stems from allegations that the company failed to fulfill its contractual obligations for the customization of motorcycles and a Rolls-Royce. The lawsuit, originally reported by WKMG News 6 in Orlando, was filed in a Florida court.
Back in 2011, 50 Cent reportedly invested a substantial sum, amounting to $195,000, in the creation of three custom motorcycles. However, the G-Unit boss contended that Parker Brothers Concepts failed to meet the terms outlined in the contract, leaving him with vehicles that were neither “street-legal” nor in “good operational condition.”
Rather than pursuing a refund, 50 Cent decided to continue his collaboration with the company, requesting further modifications for his Rolls-Royce. Unfortunately, this endeavor also proved to be problematic.
The situation took a turn for the worse when Parker Brothers allegedly returned the Rolls-Royce in a deteriorated state, requiring over $17,000 in repairs, according to claims made in the lawsuit.
Crucially, the sales agreement between 50 Cent and Parker Brothers included a stipulation that any disputes between the two parties would be resolved through arbitration. Regrettably, the lawsuit alleges that Parker Brothers did not adhere to this arbitration process.
In a significant development, an arbitrator delivered a verdict in favor of 50 Cent in July. The ruling declared that Parker Brothers owed the rapper a substantial sum of $238,093.74, along with accrued interest. Subsequently, 50 Cent took legal action with the hope of obtaining a court judgment that would affirm the arbitrator’s decision and pave the way for him to collect the awarded amount.
