Director Allen Hughes recently spoke on The Rich Eisen Show about the late rapper 2Pac’s acting talent and where his career would have gone if he had not been tragically murdered. Hughes said that 2Pac would have been a serious contender against Denzel Washington in Hollywood due to his exceptional talent and emotional and social intelligence.
According to Hughes, 2Pac would have been a multiple Academy Award winner and one of the greatest leading men in the film industry, with music taking a backseat.
2Pac was only 25 years old when he was fatally shot in Las Vegas in 1996. Prior to his death, he appeared in classic movies such as Juice, Poetic Justice, and Above The Rim.
Recently, a rare interview from 1996 was unearthed, in which 2Pac discussed his career plans and ambitions, including wanting to focus on his acting career and even launch his own movie production company.
With the new FX docuseries Dear Mama: The Saga of Afeni & Tupac Shakur exploring the dynamic relationship between 2Pac and his revolutionary mother, Afeni Shakur, the late rapper’s legacy continues to captivate audiences.
